Inspired by the vibrant Maasai culture of East Africa, TAASA, meaning “Let’s go” or “Do it,” is a celebration of adventure and living life to the fullest. The TAASA Migration Camp, nestled in the awe-inspiring Serengeti National Park, embodies this spirit. A luxury mobile camp of 12 elegantly appointed tented suites, it relocates three times a year to follow the Great Migration, offering guests an immersive wildlife experience.
For this extraordinary project, we had the honor of creating bespoke Mkuni lampshades for each tent, designed in soft, subtle palettes to complement the interiors while allowing the Serengeti landscape to take center stage. The lampshades were inspired by layered textures and woven in polyester rope, with plug-and-play electrics that fold flat into custom-made wooden crates, ready to travel across the Serengeti alongside the camp itself.
Every detail at TAASA Migration Camp is crafted with movement in mind. From alfresco bush dining and scenic sundowners to thrilling game drives led by expert guides, the experience is as dynamic as it is luxurious. Our handmade lampshades now journey with the camp, part of a story much bigger than ourselves, accompanying guests as they witness the epic wildlife migration and enjoy the magic of the Serengeti.
We are thrilled to have contributed to this project with MV Interiors, and we can’t wait to share an even closer look at the bespoke lampshades in upcoming posts. Each piece is a small part of an incredible journey, a reminder that design can travel, inspire, and connect with nature in the most extraordinary ways.
