We are thrilled to share our collaboration with the incredibly talented team at KP Create for the brand-new Nando’s Riverlands Mall in Cape Town! This project gave us the opportunity to explore the full versatility of weaving, from lighting and décor to functional screens and panels.
Upon entering Nando’s Riverlands, guests are greeted by a display of four tiered pendants, grouped in the centre of the space. Seven custom pendants were designed by KP Create and woven in our signature T-shirt fabric, each bringing warmth, texture, and a playful rhythm to the restaurant.
Nok’khanya Lampshades: A Pop of Green
Adding to the visual delight is a row of three Nok’khanya lampshades, designed by Siviwe Jali, a finalist in the Nando’s Hot Young Designer competition and founder of Umugqa Studio. Woven in shades of green, these lampshades add a fresh, lively pop of colour. Each measures 1200mm long x 200mm wide x 250mm high, with three light bulbs creating a warm glow.
These lampshades are also available to shop on our website.

Exploring Beyond the Expected
Our team also had the exciting challenge of weaving a variety of functional screens and panels for the space:
- 5 x chair divider screens – 690 x 300mm
- 3 x table screens – 690 x 270mm
-
9 x wall panels
- Wall Panel 1: 1820 x 1210mm
-
Wall Panel 2: 1820 x 1358mm

It was so rewarding to see how weaving can transform ordinary, functional objects into textured, colourful features that elevate the space. This project reminded us just how versatile weaving can be, extending far beyond lampshades into décor that tells a story.
We are incredibly grateful to KP Create for trusting us with their vision. Being part of this project right here on our home turf in Cape Town has been a privilege. Seeing our woven pieces interact with the architecture, lighting, and overall atmosphere of Nando’s Riverlands has been truly inspiring.
If you have a project in mind, whether it’s lighting, panels, or completely unique woven elements, we’d love to hear from you.
